• Power Together: PGE in the Community

We believe in the power of community. That’s why we are working to build the grid of the future for you, with you. Below are two great ways you can get involved — tell us what you'd like to do.
  • Join a PGE Community Advisory Council

The PGE Community Advisory Council (CAC) will serve as a collaborative space between PGE and communities in PGE’s service territory. The CAC will meet on a quarterly or as needed basis and will be a forum for community members to better understand and provide feedback and input on PGE projects within this area.

CAC members will provide information to and bring feedback from the community members and key stakeholders they represent. They will support PGE staff by advising on projects and programs as presented, providing valuable insight into community priorities. The CAC will complement other engagement efforts by PGE including the Community Benefits & Impacts Advisory Group (CBIAG) and with stakeholders within the regulatory environment.

    Why Community Advisory Councils?

The purpose of the PGE CAC is to serve as a sounding board to PGE on specific projects within the designated region of PGE’s service area. PGE desires to bring community members into the planning process earlier in the project lifecycle, to be informed about upcoming projects, and contribute to the discussion regarding potential alternatives and community benefits.

    Membership and Decision-making

CAC members must live and/or work in the designated region and represent a variety of experiences and perspectives. Operationally, the CAC will hear informational briefings from PGE staff and contractors, discuss and deliberate topics presented, and provide interest- and value-based advice and recommendations about PGE priorities for consideration. Decisions that consider the CAC’s advice and recommendations will ultimately be made by PGE in its sole discretion.

Total number of advisory seats: Up to 25, representing business, industry, neighborhoods, community serving organizations, labor, environment, youth, business, and other members of the community.

Number of at-large positions: 3-4 (selected from this application process)
